 ABOUT US

We are a boutique Scottish production company with a wee core team of three.

We'd love to hear from you so please feel free to get in touch.

Tom Richardson

Founder & Director

Tom began his media career in New York City in 2000, where he worked in the creative department of a multi-media lifestyle brand. While in New York he studied for a Post-Grad Diploma in Management and within a year he was managing the department and taking his first steps into TV as an Assistant Producer on the outside broadcasts for NBC’s Today Show, live from Rockefeller Plaza.

He returned to the UK and worked his way up through the ranks of established factual formats, in 2005 helping to reformat Escape to the Country into one of the longest running formats on TV. Tom was an early self-shooter and by 2006 he was directing and producing across factual genres including property, gardening and travel shows.

In 2007, Tom established his first digital video production company, Richardson Films, producing online films for brands alongside his day-to-day TV directing work.

Keen to explore new routes to market in TV, in 2008 Tom collaborated with producers in Ireland and developed a national first - a purely ad-funded travel format - the award-winning and returning The Holiday Show, supported by the then Head of TV3 Ben Frow. Tom and the team also trailblazed with a multi-media strategy for the series, bringing unseen BTS clips to YouTube and Facebook to build a following for The Holiday Show prior to linear broadcast.

Tom spent the next eight years directing successful and returning factual series in the UK and Ireland, including Great British Railway Journeys and in 2016, he pivoted back into branded content, establishing Trilogy Creative in London, a boutique agency serving clients across a number of sectors.

In 2021, he reunited with producers in Ireland and created and Executive Produced the returning Branded content first series What’s the Story?, an online collaboration with book retailer, Eason, for their social channels, Virgin Media One and the VM Player.

As the co-founder of Circus 68, Tom has realised a professional ambition of combining his love of producing factual television with his passion for people-driven branded content.

Away from work, Tom’s loves history, middle-aged man fashion, watching (not necessary playing) sport and running (around with his two energetic sons).

Jenny Cole

Executive Producer

Jenny is responsible for inspiring many of us to pack our bags, jump on a plane and take a well-earned break. As Series Producer of the BBC’s primetime travel series, Holiday, Jenny steered the show through its heyday, making it a ratings hit...while also maxing out her air miles.

Aside from travel, Jenny's expertise lies in access-led documentaries and factual formats. She has Exec'd and SP'd shows across property, history, children's TV and the military for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, UKTV and more.

As the in-house Executive Producer at Archie Productions, Jenny delivered several MoD access-led series for the BBC, including Britain’s Flying Past, The Red Arrows - Inside the Bubble, and Britain’s Ultimate Pilots: Inside the RAF.

Our very talented and experienced Executive Producer is based in Leicestershire where she enjoys walking in muddy fields with her dog Herbert.

Sarah Faulds

Founder & Head of Development

In her early TV career, Sarah filmed on location all over the globe, from the Outback to the Amazon, and, despite getting a fit of giggles during her extreme environments' training run by a bunch of surly ex-marines, she lived to tell the tale and returned from her travels unscathed.

Sarah is an experienced producer and has worked in the development teams of some of the UK’s leading Indies, including Dragonfly, Blast! Films, Crackit and Twenty Twenty. She has developed and produced documentaries and factual series for the BBC, ITV, C4, Channel 5, Nat Geo & Discovery.

After working in London for over a decade, Sarah is now back in her hometown of Edinburgh. She is an expert at negotiating and securing access with fascinating organisations that have truly amazing stories to tell. Sarah loves discovering exciting new talent, developing thought provoking documentaries and creating ambitious new formats. Sarah's passions are history, politics, literature and football, and she believes that in a former life she was a scribe in the Court of Versailles...
