 ABOUT US

We are a boutique Scottish production company with a wee core team of three.

We'd love to hear from you so please feel free to get in touch.

Tom Richardson

Co-founder & Director

After a brief career in landscape gardening, Tom began his media career in 2000 in New York, where he worked in the creative department of a multi-media lifestyle brand. While in the US he studied for a Post-grad Diploma in Management and within a year he was managing a team and taking his first steps into TV as an Assistant Producer on NBC’s Today Show, live from Rockefeller Plaza.

Tom returned to the UK and worked his way up through the ranks of established factual formats. In 2005, he helped reformat Escape to the Country into one of the longest running formats on TV. As an early self-shooter, Tom directed and produced various factual programmes from 2006, specialising in lifestyle and travel.

In 2007, Tom established his first digital video production company, Richardson Films, producing online films for brands alongside his day-to-day freelance TV directing work.

Keen to explore new routes to market in TV, in 2008 Tom collaborated with producers in Ireland and developed a national broadcast first - an entirely ad-funded travel format - the award-winning and returning The Holiday Show, supported by the then Head of TV3, Ben Frow. Tom and the THS team also trail-blazed with a multi-media strategy, posting BTS clips and competitions to YouTube and Facebook to build an audience prior to linear broadcast.

Tom continued directing successful and returning factual series in the UK and Ireland, including BBC's Great Continental Railway Journeys and Railways of the Great War. In 2016, he pivoted back into branded content, establishing Trilogy Creative in London, a boutique agency serving clients across sectors including healthcare, technology and food and drink.

In 2021, he reunited with producers in Ireland and created and Executive Produced the returning branded content and TV series What’s the Story?, a digital collaboration with book retailer, Eason, for their social channels, Virgin Media One and the VM Player.

As the co-founder of Circus 68, Tom has realised a professional ambition of combining his love of producing factual television with his passion for people-driven branded content. Away from work, Tom loves history, watching (not necessary playing) sport and running (after his two energetic boys).

Jenny Cole

Executive Producer

Jenny is responsible for inspiring many of us to pack our bags and go on holiday. As Series Producer of the BBC’s primetime travel series, Holiday, Jenny steered the show through its heyday, making it a ratings hit, while managing talent, logistical demands and multiple crews on location around the World.

As well as travel, Jenny's broadcast expertise lies in access-led documentaries and factual formats. She has Exec'd and SP'd shows on history, property and children's TV for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, UKTV and other broadcasters.

Previously, as the in-house Exec Producer at Archie Productions, Jenny secured access to and delivered several MoD access-led series for the BBC, including Britain’s Flying Past, The Red Arrows - Inside the Bubble, and Britain’s Ultimate Pilots: Inside the RAF.

When not working up ideas with Sarah and Tom, our extremely talented and very experienced Exec Producer can be found walking in muddy fields with her dog Herbert.
